God’s Faithfulness in 2020

God’s Faithfulness in 2020

Dear Ministry Friend,

2020 has been a tumultuous year for our team. We’ve faced production restrictions, a 58% drop in giving from 2019, and personal hardships that have affected us greatly.

In light of such trials, our hearts cry out to God with the words of Psalm 73:25-26: “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

We do not share this news with you in defeat. Because Jesus lives, we live. Our lives are hidden in Christ. Because our identity is tied to the decisive life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, we are not fighting for victory but from victory.

Therefore, our trials serve to magnify Jesus Christ and His grace that carries this ministry. He alone is our hope and our salvation. To quote the Apostle Paul, “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).

Despite these hardships, we invite you to journey with us through 2020 to see how the Lord has used this ministry and your financial fellowship for the gospel.

God’s Kindness in Filming Honest Discourse

At the beginning of 2020, the Lord in His kindness gave Anchored North favor in planning and filming two Honest Discourse conversations. The first conversation was about transgenderism. It featured Laura Perry, a former transperson who is now a believer in Jesus Christ, and Ashton Colby, a transgender activist. The second conversation was on the Bible and homosexuality. It featured Dr. Owen Strachan, a conservative seminary professor, and Colby Martin, a progressive Christian pastor. Both of these conversations were filmed on Greg’s seven-year anniversary in Christ. It was also God’s good providence that we filmed these conversations at the end of February. Because weeks later, lockdowns hit, and we would be unable to film again for the rest of the year.

Anchored North Debut at NRB

Our team was invited to speak at the National Religious Broadcaster’s (NRB) convention in March of 2020. It was a great opportunity to showcase Honest Discourse and how this new format is reaching thousands of people with the gospel.

New Podcast Launched: Honest Discourse

Our world is deeply divided. Differing viewpoints now create enemies, and the art of loving and authentic discussions is dying. Even Christians are struggling to share biblical truth in love. For this reason, Anchored North knew its Honest Discourse format had to extend beyond the camera into podcast discussions. This is strategic because podcast consumption is rapidly rising. Also, the significantly lower costs for podcast production than video production help us produce more conversations.

Episodes that we released in 2020 include:

  1. What Is the Purpose of Sex? | Sex Worker & Christian Author (Part 1)
  2. Does God Love Sex Workers? | Sex Worker & Christian Author (Part 2)
  3. Do Mormons & Christians Worship the Same God? | LDS Professor & Christian Professor (Part 1)
  4. Are Mormons Christians? | LDS Professor & Christian Professor (Part 2)
  5. Should Christians Support Black Lives Matter? | BLM Supporter & a Christian (Part 1)

There is such an urgent need for this format. It is a powerful format to evangelize non-Christians and to equip Christians for loving, evangelistic discussions. God is blessing this podcast, and we already have thousands of downloads.

Greg Is Hired as a Full-Time Church Evangelist at Central Church

For the last seven years, Anchored North co-founder Greg Sukert has worked in vocational online marketing while co-directing with Anchored North. Excitingly, he was recently invited to serve full-time as the Director of Evangelism for Central Church in Collierville, TN.

This is a position Greg has desired for seven years, and he is so grateful to God for this opportunity. Central Church is very excited about supporting Greg and Anchored North.

You can watch Greg’s statements at his commissioning below.

American Gospel TV (AGTV) Partnership

The producers of the incredibly impactful film American Gospel have launched their own streaming service to equip Christians with biblical content. AGTV exists to guard and proclaim the biblical gospel of Christ crucified and to provide Christians and their local churches with resources to refute the errors of the “American gospel.”

Anchored North has partnered with AGTV in an exciting opportunity to equip thousands of  Christians on biblical evangelism through our production, Honest Discourse.

Anchored North Partners with For the Gospel

For the Gospel, a ministry founded by Costi Hinn, exists to provide sound doctrine for everyday people. They believe that their role is to support local churches, leaders, and Christians from around the world through online content that strengthens and affirms their life in Christ.

Anchored North was invited to partner with For the Gospel, and Greg Sukert is an official contributor, publishing practical advice on biblical evangelism.

You can read his first contribution here.

Greg is also distributing his evangelism training video content with Central Church (see below).

Anchored North Reaches over Half a Million Views

With the launch of Honest Discourse, Anchored North’s evangelistic impact online is exploding.

Remember those conversations that God providentially allowed us to film in February? Look at what the Lord has done.

Does God Love Trans People? Trans VS Ex-Trans

  • Released July 10, 2020
  • Over 300,000 views
  • Over 4,500 comments

This is an urgent format to proclaim the gospel. Our channel is growing at incredible rates, and we have almost 30,000 subscribers.

If we keep the momentum going by releasing more episodes, we know these videos can average millions of views.

It’s important to remember that these aren’t simply views. They are people. Read the comments for yourself and see how we are reaching thousands of non-Christians with the gospel. We are also equipping Christians to share biblical truth in love by example.

No other format like this exists.  No other channel addresses these hard issues with the gospel like this one. We need your help to keep it going.

Read these impactful comments from the viewers:

“I’m not a Christian actually I’m Muslim. But one thing I notice is that the ex trans uses evidence from the bible and the trans person uses feelings as evidence. Feelings are not facts. I don’t truly think he is that willing to serve god, because I think he is still attached to his desire to be a man. Perhaps it will take time for that seed sowed to grow but as of this video, I don’t think she is very sincere with herself unlike the ex trans. She was willing to sacrifice her desire to serve god.” – Suhi R

“I am trans. I am atheist. I don’t understand religion. But I quite appreciate the professional conversation. Its one of the only civilized gender conversations that I’ve seen.” – Sahir Daghet

“As a man who has struggled with homosexuality all my life, at times I wanted to accept that I could go to heaven if I were to pursue that lifestyle. The more I wanted to accept I could be gay the more I was convicted and the angrier I became at God. I eventually strayed from religion all together for YEARS. Now I’m 21, still pretty young, but I gave my life back to God on November 1st. I still struggle with same sex attraction, frankly I think I’m going to struggle with it for a while but that’s not my worries right now. I give God thanks for giving me that free will but I give it back to him because anything not for him I do not want.” – xchorro

“I appreciated the productive and respectful dialogue—I was a bit shocked by the reasonableness of both sides. Gratefulness for the eloquence and engagement!” – AurorXZ

“Amazing! This is just what I needed to hear! I also made the decision to de-transition (die to my old selfish desires), pick up my cross and follow Jesus recently. This by far is one of the hardest journeys and is also such a lonely, narrow road, even being faced with persecution from peers I can only begin to imagine what the road ahead looks like. Thank you again so much for having this conversation so openly.” – Steph Thompson

“And this is a perfect example of how two people with opposing views can have a civil discussion.” – Eternal Learner

“The hug at the end blesses me. Civil discourse – what a rare and beautiful thing it is!” – heather delfs

“This shows why it’s so very important to know God’s Word and not lean on our own understanding.” – Frani Wright

“What an absolute beautiful presentation of the full Gospel by Laura at the end. Absolutely amazing especially the recitation of Romans 6! We have become Christians who say “What can I do and be saved”, but all through the bible we are instructed and see the early Christians saying “What must I do to be saved”. We all enter into this world full of temptations and feelings and we have to die and leave all those feelings, impulses, and temptations so that we can fully pursue Christ! The bible says for us to “set aside the weights that so easily beset us”. This was amazing.” – Courageously Encouraged

“i’m gay and atheist why am i here lol sick vid kind of tho” – carol3

“This video is touching yet also heartbreaking. im transgender and I just started hormones six month ago and im torn be between who I wanna be in who God wants me to be. like something spiritual brought me here because I love God so much but I feel like why would God make this world with transgender in gay people in it? but I also remember that the devil can give gifts too. and I love being transgender but this video makes me wanna change. and it hurt so bad watching this but just because im transgender doesn’t mean im not gods child. im just really soul searching right now” – Tari China Armstrong

Now we ask, will you support Anchored North in reaching this generation with the gospel?

We need $15,000 to produce the next two episodes of Honest Discourse.

We desire that the next round of episodes would be on Black Lives Matter and on the prosperity gospel (praying to involve Voddie Bacham and Costi Hinn on these).

We believe this is one of the most important projects of our generation, and we need to do all that we can to make sure that it’s a success. There is nothing like this, and your support will be a part of a historic series to lead many to Christ.

This funding will allow us to create more films that address more cultural issues and reach more souls with the life-changing hope of the gospel.

Please give by donating here.

Thank you for partnering with us in ministry. Your prayers and financial support are God’s provided resources in helping us reach over 500,000 people in 2020.

Our difficulties in life and ministry did not produce these results. They are the Lord’s, and we want to keep being faithful with this incredible opportunity that He has given us.

Please donate here, and may God bless your continued faithfulness to Him in 2021 and beyond.

The Anchored North Team

P.S. Don’t forget: they’re only one gospel presentation away…
